It used to be worth $1,000 as a cutting edge pro videography tool, now it isn't, I know more video orientated shooters that have dumped FCPX for Premier Pro than any other software.
Aperture or photoshop elements for mac upgrade#
Give me one example of any other software company that writes and fully supports a completely free program that enables you to not upgrade their software.įCP used to be the industry standard, now it is a dumbed down joke, but Apple don't care about the Pro market, they want the average consumer now, and there is nothing wrong with that. Adobe operate in a far better way than most software companies, they never force you to upgrade and they provide free programs to enable you to use newer cameras with older software. I don't know any "pros" fed up with Adobe.
"And it isn't like Adobe is lowering their prices as virtually every other software company has done"Īdobe cut the price of Lightroom 4 to $149, Lightroom 3 was $299. If using a Mac, I much prefer Aperture over Lightroom. Which means they weren't getting the licenses sold at the higher price. because of all the competition in that space. Granted, Adobe lowered the price on Lightroom. It is actually the reverse, Adobe is trying to find ways to charge more. And it isn't like Adobe is lowering their prices as virtually every other software company has done (Final Cut use to over $1000 you can't tell me more people cut on Final Cut than use Photoshop).
You can use Aperture with whatever external editor without an issue. And then you have the lug-in nightmare upgrades. So now you have to upgrade both applications, not just one. Lightroom, if you have an older version of Ligthroom and/or Photoshop, you might run into issues using both of them seamlessly. Most professionals I work with are getting rapidly fed up with Adobe. even pro for many reason.I would be interested in seeing something to back this up. People are leaving more and more Aperture for Lightroom.
